Oom's Promise and Connelia's Doubts

Connelia walked in the palace and greeted the guards and her father. She noticed her sister walking over to her and gave her a Raffenhoffer. "Hey, little sis!"

"Oom, what did I tell you about giving me Raffenhoffers?" Connelia crossed her arms. Oom giggled nervously. "Force of habit."  Connelia pulled Oom away from her father's earshot. "Listen…there's something I have to tell you, but you have to promise me that you will not tell anyone, especially Father." Oom smiled and nodded. "I promise little sister…"

"Good." Connelia pulled Oom in her room. She made Oom sit with her on her bed as she looked at her. "Alright…you know the Royal Adviser Dorkus, right?" Oom nodded in confirmation.

Connelia sighed and continued. "Ok…well about 3 years ago, after that ship crashed here, I was in my room in his home and then when I woke up I ended up in his bed…" Oom's eyes widened. "Oh my…" Connelia nodded. "We started talking and then one thing led to another and we started kissing…and now…we're in a romantic relationship…" she finished as she groaned.

Oom made sure the door was locked before whispering harshly at her. "Are you both crazy?! Do you both know that what you are doing is forbidden, sister?!" Connelia nodded sadly. Oom sighed and placed a hand on her shoulder. "But if you love him and he loves you, I shall keep this a secret, cross my heart…" she crossed her chest, sealing her promise. Connelia hugged her tightly. "Thank you big sister…this means a lot to us…"

In the afternoon, Connelia went to the dungeon to speak with Sheen. He had the answers that she had been looking for all her life; or so she hoped. The guards bowed low and allowed her entrance. "Be on your guard, Your Highness…" the head guard warned. Connelia smiled. "I will, don't worry."

She walked over to Sheen's cell and lightly tapped on it. "Wake up, alien…" Sheen woke up, looking around until he saw her. "You. Have you come to release me from my prison?"

Connelia's eyes narrowed. "If you answer my questions and I do not accept them, you will remain here and I will acquire a second opinion…if I do accept them, you are free to go." Sheen nodded.

"First question: Am I human as you claim me to be?" she asked harshly.

Sheen nodded immediately. "Yes…but when you were a baby, you underwent numerous experiments that altered your genetics. The reason why I know that is because ever since you accidentally were released in a pod, they showed actual footage of it…you are experiment #13, "Connie""

Connelia was fuming with rage. "You are lying! I know my father would never keep that from me! Here you will remain until I get my second opinion…" She briskly walked away, leaving a stunned Sheen behind.

"Make sure he does not escape this time, otherwise you all will suffer for failing to keep one alien in a cell…" she said grimly. The guards knew that she was in a bad mood and immediately knelt low before her. She left without muttering another word about the matter.

After the altercation at the dungeon, Connelia walked back to Dorkus' home. When she arrived, she started to doubt what she was and started to weep. She knelt on a few rocks and cried silently. Dorkus, who was coming home from meeting with the emperor, saw her crying and walked over to her. He knelt down to her level and gently touched her face. "What's wrong, Shining Star?"

Connelia sadly looked up at him. "I'm so confused. I know I am different from the others but I am a Zeenunian Princess. I've always been a princess…Dorkus, I need to know…you and my father know me too well to realize that I am more than meets the eye."

Dorkus brought her up to sit with him. "Unfortunately, my dear, what that alien said is true. You are a human female and when your father and I found you, you were in a pod that came from Earth. Your father and I didn't want to tell you earlier because we didn't want you to stray from us…" Connelia looked down shamefully. "But…" Dorkus took her hands and placed them on his chest, right above his heart. "That will never change the way I feel about you. You will always be my shining star, princess…forever." He kissed her deeply.

Connelia kissed him back with tears streaming down her face. She knew that Dorkus was telling the truth and she had to accept that. Dorkus pulled away from her and wiped her tears away. "You must be tired after a long day…let's get to bed." Connelia nodded sleepily and started to doze off. Dorkus chuckled and carried her to his home.
